ABOUT

You can reach me at mightybarrister at ya hoo dot com.
Looking to form an *acoustic* duo or trio performing some of the coolest music from the 1960s to the present. I have a list of more than 500 songs that I have performed solo or in a band, mostly classic rock, alternative, indie, and new wave. A little country, bluegrass and Celtic thrown in for good measure. These days I lean more towards the obscure and eclectic, but always melodic, and the audience seems to dig it. I like introducing great music to people who may not have heard it before, and folks in the audience will come up to me at gigs demanding to know the title and artist of "that great song you just played!".

Sing lead and harmony, play rhythm and lead, can play a little percussion and keys in a pinch. Work full time but available to practice most evenings. I've played in bands most of my adult life and "play well with others", with a decent sense of rhythm and timing. May be interested in "taking it out of the basement" for occasional gigs, but I'm not interested in gigging more than once a month or so. Also, I don't play songs that are profane or suggestive. I also have practice space convenient to Rt. 2. I'm a little older than the photos... :-)

If you'd like to get together to play, please read everything, but especially look at the sample artist list under Influences. Not interested in going back to electric - I love connecting with the audience, and the acoustic setting lets that happen in a wonderful way. Welcome any instrument - guitar, bass, keys, harp, mandolin... whatever. We can make it work. Check out Mike Masse on be, especially when he partners with others, to see what can happen.
