ABOUT

The Brick - a Portland-by-the-way-of-Beaverton collective - has emerged with its sights set on reconfiguring/reinterpretating the pop pantheon on the past with a more contemporary sensibility that doesn't completely divorce itself from the foundation that it uses as its jumping-off point.

Members Of Band

Right now The Brick consists of two guitarists/vocalists -- Dexter Carman (19) and Jeffrey Jacobus (26) who are looking for a drummer, bassist and perhaps even a third guitarist. Ideally, we're looking for people to collaborate with who are willing to "go through the motions" and aren't already at a professional level and insist on working at a hurried pace. Although the combined experience between the two of us is well over a decade, we're looking for a few fellow musicians - and, ultimately, friends - that can evolve together and are willing to work in a reciprocal environment where everyone is willing to give input for the benefit of the band as a whole. So, if you're looking to use The Brick as a podium to show off at the expense of songwriting (which will be paramount), then please look elsewhere -- this isn't an ego-driven band, and it NEVER will be. If you're looking for an outlet to flex your creative muscle and make a somewhat-selfless contribution to the "greater whole" and are patient and willing to work out ideas at a relaxed pace, then please inquire within.

EQUIPMENT

P.S. Having your own equipment and transporation is a MUST. If you're not willing to make the commute to Beaverton for the bulk of band practice and/or recording, then look elsewhere. Also, you MUST have your own equipment. These two prerequisites must be met if you're even remotely interested.
