I used to play drums in jazz band back in highschool and just picked up another set about a year ago. I like to be more than just a timekeeper when I'm jamming, I make my kick patterns bounce with the melody to give it an extra groove and more or less play with how the song sounds while keeping time. I tried started a band with my friends but there not down for the type of music im trying to play and there not dedicated enough to want to jam consistently.
