I have played both lead in a rock band, quite some time ago, and rhythm and some lead in varying rolls in acoustic groups. I have a group I play with from time to time, but they don't/can't play enough, and I want to do more, and play with different musicians in different settings that will push me. I have played guitar forever, but lately have been fascinated with playing banjo, and am getting to the point where I could accompany competently--rapidly making progress.

Influences
All over the map. From classic rock, hard rock, blues, to classical--love jazz as well but haven't played much. Lately I have loved playing bluegrass, Celtic, and rootsy acoustic. Love the Avett Brothers, Trampled by Turtles, Punch Brothers, etc. Longtime influences are Rush, Paul Simon, Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and many more.
