ABOUT

Started off getting a keyboard for my 14th birthday, inspired by the works of Martin Powell and how he could bring so many layers and atmospheres to music. I wanted to be able to do that too. Quickly formed a band in 8th grade with classmates just fooling around but we made some pretty cool stuff. Then I went solo for a while and developed my own sound, building a collection of keyboards for different sounds and ease of performance. Also looks bad ass on stage. Started taking lessons around age 16, learned how to improvise and just took off from there-- finally understood music and couldn't be stopped. Improvising on keyboards are great but sit me down in front of a real piano and you just can't take me off it. Had several bands in high school and college. Also recorded a lot and would be happy to share with you some of my most memorable times as a musician with friends. Still do a lot of solo stuff, but I feel I always grow as a musician when I play with others.

Currently looking for drummer and electric guitarist to help me out with a few songs. Would also like to connect with violin or cello players. contact me greenranger2814 (at) (dot) com

Influences

Angels & Airwaves, Cradle Of Filth (Martin Powell as keyboardist era), wish I could list more influences but those two bands stand above all others in my mind when I try think about how I became the musician I am today.

EQUIPMENT

Yamaha Motif 6 for synth and song creation, Casio CTK 691 mostly for the quality of the piano sound, but some fun organs on there too, Yamaha DJX for making fun sounds on the fly and fooling around, Yamaha DJX 202 for strings, church organ, choir aahs. M-Audio fast-track into Pro Tools on my laptop for recording in my home studio. Also 8 input mic/quarter-inch Zoom recorder for recording band practices or portable studio sessions if need be. It's decent.
