Mostly listen to somewhat heavy stuff, but I like playing in bands that have a variety of backgrounds and influences. If everyone in the band listens to everything I listen to, we're probably just going to end up writing stuff that everyone's already heard before. I've been playing drums since I was a kid and thought I never got my double kick work up to thrash levels, I'm feel like pretty competent outside of that. I can sing a bit, but I'm mostly going to prefer backup vocals or just short bits of songs rather than trying to lead from behind a kit. I can play guitar/bass as long as it's in drop tuning and I'm playing the super simple kind of crap I write myself.
My ideal band situation would be rehearsing in person once a week, everyone working on ideas in the days between practices, being able to play out every once in a while, and recording an 4 or 5 song EP and even a video every year or two. If any of that lead to a short regional tour, full length album, or getting to opening up for bigger bands that would be awesome, but I can't really quit my job to tour nationally any time soon.
Also trying to avoid driving over an hour to band practice if possible - though I kinda doubt that's possible with me being in Boulder.
Pretty fluent in Reaper Audio and Superior Drummer as well as DaVinci Resolve and Premier Pro for video editing. I've also been playing with BandLab and getting into Unreal Engine lately. Would love to make some interesting videos (think White Stripes-Button to Button // Anberlin-Unstable // Architects-Gone With The Wind, Royal Blood-Lights Out, St. Vincent-Digital Witness).
I realize it's most likely impossible to line up with a whole band worth of people 100%, but I may as well be upfront with everything I'm looking for and see where other people are at. Even if you just want to hangout and go to a show sometime, hit me up.
