I'm an experienced lead and rhythm guitarist based out of Brooklyn, NY. Ten years of playing my instrument, five years of various band experience, close to two of which were spent touring and recording in a semi-serious signed screamo/hardcore band.
I'm currently forming a melodic emo/pop punk/post-hardcore band with a female vocalist. She is a classically trained singer with live and studio experience. We've been playing together for several months now, and looking to get serious with other musicians.
The style of music is melodic and catchy, but with darker instrumentation. Immediate influences would include Paramore, Thursday, Underoath, Anatomy of a Ghost, and (Anthony Green's) Saosin.
We're looking for talented, committed musicians with gear and drive. Major experience isn't necessary, but a huge plus. Your passion should be audible in your playing and visible in your stage performance.
We're looking for:
- A creative bassist with chops. Someone who can write their own parts and really add to the songs, not just follow them.
- A strong rhythm guitarist with some lead capabilities. You don't need to be a shredder by any means. A good ear and understanding of chord progression are key, though.
- A skilled and creative drummer. Having your own gear is crucial. We want a hard hitter who can produce good drum tone and heavy rhythms. Ideally, double bass is preferred, but only to be used sparsely.
Aside from having your own gear, you should also be between the ages of 20 and 26 and able to practice and perform in the evenings. We are both in our early twenties and have day jobs. Being able to contribute back-up vocals (singing or screaming) would be excellent, as well.
