ABOUT

Hi, I'm a self taught guitarist mostly interested in blues soloing type guitar work. Examples of my playing are on be at the "Thomas Orehek Blues" channel s:///channel/UCLuQpIp68k6iRJl64fz9LEQ
Though I'm a decent rhythm guitarist as well. I'm looking ideally for a gigging Blues band that needs a lead guitarist. I'm available afternoons and late into the night pretty much 24/7 as I work from home. I make Acoustic Foam sound absorption Panels for Studio and practice spaces. (,If you're interested in Acoustic Panels, I sell through Reverb on the "Acoustic Panels and Art Outlet" Reverb shop.) I have a practice space/ studio garage I use in not too hot or too cold weather. Doubles as my Workshop for the panels. Drum set and a multi-channel PA system are in there as well. Semi sealed and sound dampened on every wall. I've lived in Fort Worth Texas all my life. I don't have experience playing with a full band but I've spent years gaining ability to solo improvised blues by myself, and played over other blues musicians in a limited number of private jams, most notably with The Amp Tech Mike Shadowen at his house and shop in Benbrook TX while he played electric keyboard and guitar. And also briefly with a Dallas guitarist, Steve Savage. I've also jammed lead guitar over my Dad's Rhythm playing since I was 14 or 15. Always felt not quite good enough or consistent enough as a player but I've channeled the majority of my time and energy trying to be, And I'd like the chance to Play with a blues band to get some experience and more Confidence in my playing. I Don't work a regular job right now (I've been making Soundproofing and acoustic dampening anti echo studio sound panels for a few years by hand for sale online), or for the foreseeable future, so I could go into playing guitar nightly full time if I'm needed by a suitable band. I Have my own 30 watt (Selectable down to 15 or 5 watt power) 1x12 combo amp, A Mesa boogie Lonestar Special. And I have a brand new parts caster Strat that I'll make some better videos soon. Oh I should add I don't have my own car, but my gear is simple and pretty portable. I can make use of uber or lyft ride sharing. I also have a decent full drum kit that I've practiced blues and jazz type rhythms on for 8 or so years. It's in my garage Practice studio.

EQUIPMENT

-Fender Stratocaster with single Lindy Fralin Combination pickup in the neck position, a high output Alnico v humbucker with a switch for coil splitting for use as a strat or tele like single coil pickup, for a simple, yet broad variety of sounds.
-Mesa Lonestar Special 30 or 15 or 5 watt Amp with all Tube Reverb circuit.
Effects: I prefer to use the dual channel switching of the Mesa Amp lately.
-Simple one guitar one amp setup overall. Low to mid to high gain tube overdrive available within my amp's control range.
