Tim Erickson is a Southern California born Guitar Player, Song Writer, and has covered vocals, bass, piano, and drums in the studio many times. Having grown up in California as a kid and a teen during the early 80's Hollywood scene, and then moving on to the late 80's Northern California hard rock scene, and finally on to Seattle in '91, leading to the founding of his 90's Funk Rock band "The Smoking Section" ('92-'98). Their album "Funky Shade of Blue" is still available everywhere!

Living in Northern California, looking for a new band to join, or possibly looking for a lead singer to build a band with.

Experienced in studio, and live performance, in Northern & Southern California, Seattle, Chicago, more. Having a reputation for his strong work ethic, leadership qualities, and musicianship, as a guitar player and overall song writer. (with a focus on playing for the song, and injecting genuine feel, soulful melody, and gutsy attitude!

His instrumental single "She Moves Me" will be released on June 7th 2021 everywhere. Projects he has been a part of over the years have ranged from late 60's to early 70's era British Blues Rock, to 80's Rock, To 90's Funky Groove Rock, Grungy Rock, Alternative Rock, and Blues styles. Working creatively in the zone is his happy place, often going on long steaks of writing new songs at a very fast pace, with experience in projects ranging from multi layered production styles, to a more raw, straight forward, right up front approach.

The re-release of "The Smoking Section" album includes extra live tracks from a house party in Seattle, as well as new (previously missing) rhythm tracks and solos, which are now on the studio tracks they way they were meant to be. Also in the works is a remaster and release of the previously unavailable follow up to the Smoking Section album "Funky Shade of Blue" (2020) he also released his solo album which was recorded right after the breakup of The Smoking Section. The album, entitled... "The Ride" had been sitting on a shelf for many years, but was finally released in March of 2021.

Influences on guitar range from... Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante & Hillel Slovak (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Randy Rhoads, Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen, STP, Alice in Chains, SRV to name just a few.

On vocals influences range from Mike Patton, and Anthony Kiedis, to Scott Weiland, Dave Grohl, and Alice in Chains.
