ABOUT

Hi all,

I am a 25 year old highly skilled guitar player looking to join or form a hard rock band.

Here's what I can provide you with: heavy-handed rock songwriting. Licks and structures that take their sound from Gov't Mule, the White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, the Strokes. Unique slide guitar playing that draws from traditional American folk music and blues. Finger and flat-picking expertise on both electric and acoustic guitars. In general: guitar playing that sounds like every last note means something.

Roughly what you should be/want to be and do: Drummers, singers, bass players, keyboard players, harmonica players who are skilled at what they do but DO NOT let their skill get in the way of tastefulness. I am not looking to be part of a band that does the following: makes music for the case of showcasing an individual's skills. I am looking to join/form a team that creates soulful, total-sound oriented music. Be in your 20s. I am not looking to join a group of 40 or 50 year olds whose purpose is to "revive the old sound that no one listens to anymore." The sound is there if you listen hard enough.

Ideally the group will be 3-6 members. You should be willing to make significant personal sacrifice for the progression of this group: if we are offered time to go into a recording studio, play a weekend's worth of shows in NY, NJ, CT, etc you will be enthusiastically there no questions asked. I have a great deal of experience playing vintage-sounding hard rock music around the northeast, and I am basing this posting off of ordeals and issues I have seen arise in the past.

I am an eclectic person when it comes to creating an overall sound. If my influences blending with yours make us sound like something original and meaningful, case closed. In responding, if you've got any samples of things you do/have done, please include those. I've included links to some work I have done in recent years, as well as some noodling. This is a ballpark idea of what I am looking to do, but again, let's get together and see what we can do.
