I am seeking to start a band different from a typical cover band, been there done that
I would like to write some originals along with covers where we’re seeking our own sound rather than trying cover note for note, playing to our strengths of course. Certainly covering songs can be a lot of fun.
Experience has taught me that a band has to be centered around the vocalist and my position as lead guitarist is to accent the vocals rather than trying to dominate with constant riffing. I would hope for female and male vocalists which adds greatly to diverse musical styles. I can share some of the vocals some but my vocal talents are limited.
I’ve played in two successful cover bands in the Houston area from 2003 to 2014 and honestly don’t know how many gigs I’ve played, probably over 200.
My influences are considerable from Bob Wills,Hank Williams,Townes Van Zandt , Guy Clark B.B. King,Jeff Beck,Albert King,Steve Winwood,Little Feat,Marshall Tucker, the Beatles,Stones, CCR,Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, CSNY, Buffalo Springfield, The Band, Linda, Janice,Allman Bros, Renaissance, Merle Haggard, Aretha, Wilson Pickett, Staind, Evanescence and certainly more.
I would like a writing partner or partners with at least one female. Hopefully but not necessarily band members.

Vaccinated . I've played with quite a few talented female vocalist and love the female voice.
I'm also very adept at Rockabilly .
