SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
I am seriously interested in playing trombone in any local area band that uses sheet music -- any swing band, dance band, orchestra, Dixieland band, pep band, concert band, symphony orchestra, or any other kind of band, preferably professionally but also if only for fun. I have played in different local area big bands / swing bands / dance bands in Ohio, as well as several concert bands, pep bands, marching bands, and one city symphony orchestra.
In undergraduate college days I had the good fortune to play three and a half years professionally with a well-known college big band ("Campus Owls"), which at the time included some extraordinary musicians who previously played in Ray Anthony's big band (lead trombonist, lead alto sax, and bass) and another professional who had played in Gene Krupa's band (lead trumpet; he led our band). The Ray Anthony veterans had brought with them Anthony's former fine book of hand-written arrangements, which formed the core of our library. A couple of our own band members also did some fine arrangements for the band.
