ABOUT

I'm serious and only looking for serious musicians.

I have demos (attached) to work from but I am cool with adding your own flavor and open to writing stuff as a band.

This is a band for people who truly want to do this for a living.

Diversity encouraged and preferred this means in everyway LGBTQ and ethnically speaking. I am a white male but I have a very diverse array of people in my life and my band is a reflection of me. That said, don't think bc you are a white dude, I'm not interested. I want serious people first. You can't be under 21 bc of playing in bars.

What I need:
be able to work from demos
be able to learn covers (but its not a cover band)
a true passion and work ethic (I know you have a life, but when we work, focus)
Practice a few times a week
eventually go on tour

Bass that can play repeating lines in time
A good saxophone player (if you can also play keys or percussion even better)
A steady in the pocket drummer. Not a person who play tons of rolls.
2 Guitar/keys/percussion - if you can do one or two of these it's best - guitar style is angular and minimal not wanking with tons of notes.
A female back up/ co-singer with soulful style

The music is tough and sexy - masculine and feminine

I am very focused, determined, and confident, but I'm not an egomaniac asshole. I enjoy working with others but expect a serious effort and work. Again this is NOT a hobby. It's a profession, treat it as such. If you are truly passionate about playing work=fun.

Glam/new wave band with influences from Roxy Music, Bowie, Grace Jones, Brian Eno, Yoko Ono, Blood Orange, Prince, Velvet Underground, Gang of Four, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, LCD Sound System, T-Rex, Talking Heads, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Morphine, Iggy Pop, and House Music
