ABOUT

Hello, I am Tony Lane. I am 18 years old and have been playing guitar for about 4 years. I listen to many different genres of music, although I tend to stick mostly to the classics (music usually ranging from the 50's to the 90's). My favorite genres are Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Glam Metal, NWOBHM, Thrash Metal, and Blues. I am by no means an extremely skilled musician, and I still have much to learn, and a lot to improve on. However, I do have a profound love for guitar playing as well as music in general. I also think that I have potential to evolve as a musician and eventually become even better than I am right now. Finding other like-minded musicians to jam with might help me to unlock some of that potential, learn to play in a group setting, learn to share creative ideas and thoughts, learn to play along to different rhythms, speeds, styles, and sounds, learn to collaborate with others and to contribute to their ideas for different compositions, riffs, solos, songs etc, and maybe even help push me to my limits and let me see what I am truly capable of as a guitarist. I have also picked up bass guitar and keyboard quite recently and I have found that I rather enjoy playing those instruments as well. I mostly just play for fun, but I would be willing to take it further and start rehearsing, writing songs, recording music, playing gigs etc. And possibly even make a career out of it if possible. I am currently finishing my Junior year of high school and I am still living with my parents. I know what you're probably thinking; "what a loser". However, I have recently gotten my temporary State ID (I should be expecting my official ID to come in the mail any day now), and I am currently on the search for a part-time minimum wage job so that I can start saving up for college and eventually move out of my parents house. In case you are wondering why I am not finished with high school yet, I slacked off a lot in my freshmen and sophomore years. And.. as much as I hate to admit it, I was eventually held back sophomore year as a consequence and had to repeat 10th grade. I'm not stupid in any way, I just didn't apply myself like I should have. So now I am trying my best to catch up on my credits and to complete high school before I turn 20. And as long as I don't get held back again (which I'm gonna make sure doesn't happen) I should be able to fulfill that goal, and graduate at 19 years old. Better late than never I guess, hell... most kids I know probably would've dropped out by now. So.... since I am stuck finishing high school, currently unemployed, and still living with my parents, what's better to do with my spare time than finding other people to jam with? Guitar is probably my biggest hobby and it's something I love doing very much. And it would be great if I could find other people who love playing/making music as much as I do. Side-note; I can not yet read standard notation, and I have not learned very many chords or scales yet. However, I am very good at improvising and coming up with different sounds and tunes off the top of my head. I can play some decent lead, but my lack of chord knowledge inhibits my ability to come up with good riffs. Although I may not be able to read standard notation, I can read TAB to an extent, so I am able to learn new tunes when I have the time to do so. Like I said, I have much to learn, and a lot to improve on. So... if you're not looking for any seriously committed professionals to record with or play gigs with, and you just want a chill, down-to-earth guy with a good sense of humor to jam with in your spare time, I'm always available. If you play drums, lead guitar/rhythm guitar, sing, or play keyboard, it'd be sweet if we could get together and maybe start a band. You can contact me through my email; tonylane96 or through ; Tony Lane, or Anthony lane (I have two accounts).
