Currently seeking bassist and drummer to form a band playing original music.
The sound I’m going for is hard to classify in any particular genre, but is influenced by flamenco, jazz, latin, funk, blues, rock.
I typically play electric guitar finger style with light overdrive and tap tempo echo, often using less commonly used modes and chord progressions. I have won a couple of guitar competitions already playing this style. Now wanting to take it to the next level with a trio.
I’d like to create some music that has strong harmonic movement, which also has a good groove, that makes people want to shake their asses at clubs, and that has melodic hooks that worms into the listeners’ minds and stays with them afterwards.
A few rough music samples of some of my ideas are below. Note that I’m playing drums there, which isn’t my strength, so not as tight as I’d like. I am open to collaborate on writing too, including making drums or bass parts the primary focus in some sections.
In terms of goals, firstly I’d like to make some new friends in the portland music scene and have some fun. If it’s a good match, then we can record some more polished songs together, play some gigs, mostly around portland for starters, and if there’s some good traction, try to play some music festivals in oregon and neighboring states.
Reach out if you’re interested. We can do a casual jam session for starters to see what the musical chemistry is like.
