I believe:
"It is not how well you play but, how well you play with others."

Even though I know my guitar very well, I am not a "great" musician in my own eyes. I have played my guitar (a modified 1964 Melody Maker) for many years. Along the way I learned to sing and ear-spot harmonies during vocals. My first instrument is guitar: R&B, Blues, Folk, Classical. Rhythm or lead. I'm just about as strong on the keyboard but violin or trumpet will require a few takes. Practice is completely different than rehearsal. Practicing together is great though. Not so interested in getting back to the stage but, I am interested in getting with musician(s) who refuse to settle for "good enough". I have played with many bands ranging from Frank Sanatra's band and once with Tommy Bolin (RIP) to musicians that count how many times they need to play on the "dot" before changing notes. Spent a reasonable amount of time as a studio musician and have payed more venues than I can remember. I want to have fun and if that long and winding road takes me back to the stage, I'm OK with that too. It's just not my goal at this point. I have an intimate understanding of sound equipment and how it does and does not work. Getting together with a bass or guitar player that sings for some wood-shed rehearsal would be perfect for me. My chosen genres of music should include: R&B, Funk, Way fun to play any kind, Folk, Latin, Cover/Tribute. tpcolvin
