Blue Hotel is a female-fronted alternative pop/rock band playing originals. Our dedicated rehearsal space, which includes a basic recording capability, is based in Sterling, VA. We typically rehearse once a week--usually Sunday afternoon for 2-3 hours. Our guitarist just quit the band and we are looking to replace him with either two guitarists or a guitarist and a keyboard player. We have about a set worth of originals, but would want to focus on writing new material with new band members--perhaps keeping just the best of the old material. We range in age from our early thirties to early forties. We have careers and families and this is a serious hobby for us. We are all strong musicians and veterans of numerous local bands. Looking for talented, experienced, reliable musicians to shoulder most of the music writing load (vocalist will handle vocal melodies and lyrics). Looking to gig about once a month and to eventually record.

Key influences include the classics (Zep, Hendrix, Who, etc.), 80s pop/rock (U2, Police, Smiths, TFF), 90s alternative rock (Smashing Pumpkins, No Doubt, Garbage), and more modern indie pop/rock (Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Strong singer influenced by PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple, Alanis, Tori Amos, and many others.
