Hey all, My name is Troy. I've been playing for 16 years now. I've always just been sort of a guitar geek. I have a degree in guitar performance from Musicians Institute (GIT) in Hollywood California. While there I studied technique, rhythm, improvisation, ear training, music theory, charting, transcription, and reading/sight reading/ensemble reading. I am currently earning my BA in Jazz Studies at WIU. Lately I have been playing in a jazz combo setting, "jazz" guitar ensemble, and doing jazz guitar duets.
Some styles that I've studied include are jazz, blues, fusion, funk, rock, a little bit of R&B (would love to play more!) and a little bit of country.
I aspire to play jam/blues/jazz/funk music in an improv/jam band but am able to play a variety of styles and will try and fit into any musical situation. If you are in need of a guitar player or if you have similar interests and want to start something original, please get ahold of me asap!
