ABOUT

Lead guitar and keyboards with vocals and several original compositions and complete arrangements for a full band to record and play out. We have many more original songs in the works and arrangement ideas that are waiting for you to bring to the next level with us. We have developed a very original sound that is based in alternative rock, funk, reggae and a twist of jazz. We are focused on creating original lyric driven songs that are melodic and open to other members writing specific parts of the arrangements. The music is composed to be driven by the standard form of song writing in verses, pre-chorus, a chorus, and bridge, etc… but in that form is a blank canvas for arrangements, improvisation and new harmonic structures created spontaneously by exchanging melodic ideas and themes in moments of the performance. The counterpoint between all rhythmic and melodic elements from each of the instruments in the band becomes a sound g that stays fresh always creating something new and unique. Bringing all of the different influences straight out of the 90s Radiohead, Weezer or Smashing Pumpkins spot over a seventy’s funky disco section and into a classical invention in the style of Bach staccato counterpoint. Like a classical composition we are focused on movements jamming and composed arrangements throughout the music that flow through very wide ranges in dynamics from tiny orchestral spaces without time into a build that brings the music to its peak sustained intensity and then we can throw down a drop and take it back down or move laterally throughout a series of sections tightly knit together. The songs tend to wrap around with sections that use lyrical cues or auditory cues to send a message around the band to change or specify a particular set of hits or accents. Looking for someone to add drums, backing and or some lead vocals, rhythm guitar and or some lead guitar for recording an album of original music and performing as much as possible.

Influences

As you will hear throughout all of the riffs that go around the musical journey in instrumental jamming between songs and within spaces between parts of the song or a section that lyrically lends the song into an instrumental space to be built in the emotion of a moment outside the form where the riffs are exchanged in a unified comfort zone and express the vast influences of our combined musical experiences. The nineties were the most influential period in our lives and we love all of it from the pop to the obscure. We have a classical music background and a jazz theory background that is slightly infused in our compositions, arrangements and improvisation that extends from a simple pivot chord structure to the Miles Davis philosophy of committing to be constantly creating something new within the same changes. Looking for a Buddy Rich and Mickey Hart and a John Coltrane weaving through our Wes Montgomery and Page McConnell to fill in the rest of the notes between and bring it to 11. Biggest inspirations stem from the Beatles, The Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones through the classic rock and folk rock of Dylan, CSNY, Credence, Skynard and The Band. Improv from the 60s and 70s psychedelic rock of the Allman Brothers, Hendrix and Grateful Dead infused with the Jazz improv of Miles and Coltrane with heavy influences in through-composed sustain of little melodic themes that connect the pieces in a record like in Pink Floyd. Talking Heads, The Cars, The Cure, U2, REM James Taylor, Elton John, Billy Joel, 10,000 Maniacs, The Cranberries, Alanis, Weezer, Tool, Radiohead, Modest Mouse, Green Day and Operation Ivy. The newer wave of improv jammers and non-conventional composers like Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Pat Metheny, Phil & Friends, Further and Rat Dog. Bluegrass and Country like the David Grisman Quintet and the Dixie Chicks. Heavily rooted in the song forms and arrangements that made such amazing records in the last golden age of the recording studio in 90s the pop and alternative music like STP, Nirvana, Pearl Jam through Coldplay and Snow Patrol. If we had to pick one modern band up and coming in the live music and festival circuit today that would sum it up that would be Twiddle. The same heart, song and lyric driven melodic ideas with similar styles of playing and influences as us but in a different style that is unique and their own.

EQUIPMENT

Live mix rack with outboard processing Mackie/Behringer/Midas mix rack with breakout boxes for audio over shielded CAT6, traditional stage boxes loomed into a snake with a breakout fantails to an i/o patch bay at the mix rack and a passthrough to the amp rack for power amps gping to passive PA speakers and 4 individual passive monitor speakers for 4 independent mixes at rehearsal and during live performances. In house studio rehearsal space setup to do complete recording sessions with 24 tracks of audio recording via professional A/D/D/A interfaces with Yamaha D-PREs and Midas preamps for 24 simultaneous live multitrack recording. Monitor record tracks at zero latency playback via multitrack DAW outputs directly sent via digital i/o through D/A converters and through a 32 Channel Analog audio console for live monitoring while tracking or rehearsing in its always also a studio. Capable of producing normal monitor mixes through a live record interface processing and back through the interface to analog “tape returns” for mixing monitors with a post processing signal that can simultaneously capture and live monitor up to 24 tracks at 48kHz or 96kHz sampling rate 24 Bit Multitrack Audio Recording. Even with plenty of live effects processing and plugins the signal going back through the mixer to the Crown Power Amplifiers, and into the monitor and PA Speakers has no noticeable latency and if you didn’t know otherwise you would think it’s just a mic going into the mixer snd not into a preamp on an interface gaining it up to line level and converting it into a digital audio signal that can be processed routed and recorded in a DAW software application on a computer. Effects added EQ compression and multiple inserts before the track is routed back out and through independent digital to analog converters providing an analog audio signal coming out of the audio computer interface and then into the live mixer input that can be sent out an auxiliary bus to a PA system and monitor speakers. We have Full mic packages for studio recording and live performances.
Four Passive 12” full range 1200 Watt Peak with independent auxiliary sends for individual monitor mixes and up to 6 total with active, powered monitors or wired/RF IEMs etc…
