I'm a 24 year old guitarist (a rhythm player, for the most part), and, as the title says, I'm looking to start some metal/alt/industrial/electronic band/project (genre somewhat loose). Right now, it's just me, so I'm looking for anyone: a singer, drummer, bassist, keyboardist, etc. I have quite a few and mostly WIP stuff I've recorded, and I can provide examples. However, I don't expect this to be a my-way-or-the-highway dictatorship: Creativity among members is encouraged and desired. I've also been told I can write at least decent lyrics, so there's that. Overall, I want to be part of something that's more than a 4-dudes-looking-down-at-a-camera band. Something that explores a new approach to the traditional band thing. I'd like to work with people who are willing to experiment, both with music and anything else.
As for gear, I use a 7 string, and, among a few other guitars, a 5 string bass. I do quite like extended range instruments. I'm also a pedal junkie (using around 12-15 and more on the way), even to the point of building my own. I also have a Bugera tube amp.
I do want this to be a serious effort if we jell well and everyone decides to be dedicated. Some of the goals, short and long term, include, playing gigs/live shows, eventual touring, putting out albums, having fun, etc, etc, etc. An interest in learning about/having knowledge of the music industry is a plus. I have Pro Tools and am able to record/mix. That also means I have quite a few plugins and delicious softsynths.
