My last project was a post-hardcore band called "Lustera", of which I was a founding member and one of the primary songwriters. You can stream Lustera at ://lusteramusic.

From April of 2012 until November of 2014 I was the full time drummer for “Counterfeit i” from Chicago. During a two year run with them, which ended on good terms, I worked on several recordings and played approximately one hundred live shows between the midwest and the east coast. While I was with that band I also did some one off shows drumming for the Americana/Folk artist Zach Pietrini.

I do tend to lean towards the heavier genres as my biggest influences have tended to be louder and grittier bands. But I truly love playing period and I've learned to not limit myself, which has opened up opportunities and made me a better player. Counterfeit i allowed me to push myself in the world of odd, fluctuating time signatures, tasteful complexities, and more of an artistic approach to playing. I think my main goal is to just always keep what I’m doing fun and interesting, at least to me, in any project I’m involved in.

I endorse Soultone Cymbals. ://soultonecymbals/artist/tyler-kirgiss
