UNCLE MORTY’S RHYTHM CREAM is a big band with a full horn section. We have worked for over a decade playing local clubs, corporate events, country clubs, weddings, reunions, etc. The band is interested in a more limited practice and gig schedule than years past (practice every 2, around 12-16 gigs a year). Uncle Morty’s Rhythm Cream has been together since 2010. As with any band that is together that long, the line-up has to go through some transitions as life takes people in different directions and jobs take them to different locations. The band very strong with excellent horn players.
This is an extremely easy-going and generous group of musicians who have extensive prior experience in bands. Members are largely professionals in other fields who enjoy getting together to practice but are committed to playing out. A person who would enjoy being in this band is someone who: likes this type of music; not only wants to play out, but would enjoy working on the band as a social outlet; can be part of an ensemble piece where all players share the spotlight; and is not into drugs or drama. This is a really solid group of people who fit very well together. If you are a professional musician looking to play out every weekend, this band would not support that gigging schedule. We get more gig requests than we can accommodate.
