ABOUT

(Pardon our dust; UR50 has rebranded as No Right Mind. More updates to come.) UR50 is a highly-focused project for healthy, married guys in their early 50's (or thereabouts) living in Northern Virginia. A new startup, UR50 is a part-time band with a specific edge: music that is rich with vocal harmonies and jangly guitars. The majority of the song core consists of rock and pop covers about good times and relationships, with most songs in a major key and "danceable." General rock, pop, novelty, and some country are added as gigs warrant. For song lists, please visit DOT NoRightMind DOT net.

Band members are professionals looking to get back into rocking – but at a pace that allows for quality of life. UR50's primary pursuit is special events and venues OTHER than late-night local bars. Gig frequency ranges from once every 3 months to one, two, possibly 3 times a month. Family first, job second, UR50 third. For rambling philosophy, other points, and to contact us, please visit DOT NoRightMind net.

Right now we're seeking two or three musicians – a drummer, bassist, and a keyboardist. – who can sing well and have an ear for harmonies, bop on stage, and contribute to project stability and growth. We'll consider guys who play both bass and guitar – and would like the ability to switch between axes. We seek tenors – especially 1st tenors who in full-voice can comfortably hit A4 ("A" above middle C on the piano, or 1st string/5th fret), B4 (7th fret) or C5 (8th fret) – or higher.

Influences

UR50's business model incorporates a range of artists and songs. We're not a tribute band, but The Beatles are a favorite artist – as are all those who came after them. For song lists, please visit DOT NoRightMind DOT net.
