Hi everyone, my name is Vanessa and I am a rock singer originally from Miami, Florida.

I have studied music throughout the entire duration of my college years, and plan to pursue it as my career. I have a 3.6 octave vocal range, and three vocal coaches I have worked with have determined that I have perfect pitch. As a child, I was trained on piano and learned to read music that way. I sing in English and Spanish. I've been trained in theater and have participated in local and college productions, and have sung the national anthem for government ceremonies and sporting events (including the Winston-Salem Dash three years in a row, up to this year). I also fronted an Eighties hair metal band for two years, and while the music wasn't quite my thing, I did enjoy my time with my bandmates, as well as performing front and center on a stage.

I'm very dedicated to performing and at the moment am working with a vocal coach (via video call due to certain circumstances). Once the quarantine is over, I will be looking to get together with musicians to start a new musical project. So, if you know of anyone who can help me out, holler at me! (Not literally, though. A message is fine.)

All kinds. Linda Ronstadt was my first real musical influence, but Amy Lee of Evanescence has provided major guidance in who I am and who I would like to become as a singer and performer. What a beautiful voice, she does her thing. I love the occasional rock edge in Selena's otherwise smooth, soaring vocals... plus she was an amazing show woman, and still inspires me to this day. Freddie Mercury of Queen was also a true showman, and vocally that band was the best of its time. Vocal powerhouses of the Eighties like Bonnie Tyler and Ann Wilson are always a welcome addition to my music player. I'm a child of the Nineties, and so I've always been drawn to and influenced by the music of that era: Pearl Jam, Jewel, Veruca Salt, Alanis Morissette, Nirvana, Melissa Etheridge and others... as well as bands that came onto the scene later, like Linkin Park and Panic! at the Disco. Of course, my influences are not just limited to the rock genre, as I believe in listening to and learning from vocalists in other genres, like pop, jazz, Broadway, R&B, soul and even country (LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood are powerhouses in their own right). And before I peace out, let's get this out of the way: although I am a rock chick at heart, I'm also a total Arianator, hashtag no shame. Love that chick's voice!
