Vaud & the Villains has been described as what rock & roll would sound like if they played it back in the 1930s. They are more than just an eighteen piece band and two dancers. They are an entertainment spectacle. To see them perform is to step back into a blending of time and genres that only exists in a V&V show. It’s New Orleans traditional, it’s gospel, it’s smokey backroom slow drag, it’s Dixie, it’s soul, it’s Cajun, it’s a porch front revival show, your living room full of some of the most talented musicians in town singing songs that you may not know, but then they’re so familiar at the same time. If you have a pulse your toe is tapping and your probably on your way to the dance floor. The element of style is what makes it so unique. There have been large bands throughout the history of music but this one is set up to be a theatrical entertainment buffet. It is simultaneously a 1930’s rock band and a soulful throwback revival era musical.
