ABOUT

Dependable percussionist and back-up vocalist from Southend Louisville looking for like-minded musicians wanting to jam or gig. Yep, I know…another drummer...a dime a dozen. I have been playing drums since I migrated from the violin at the age of 14, basically 40 years ago. I have experience in progressive rock, pop and classic rock, southern rock, outlaw country, R and B, jazz, etc... Also moderately experienced in acoustic/rhythm guitar and have background vocal experience.

Just within the last six years, and after 19 years of teaching percussion, I am embracing being a performer again, and since 2014, I have played with multiple regionally popular bands and have recorded professionally on two recorded albums.

Although my previous bands excelled in great original music (classic rock style if a genre needs to be assigned) and I love my current gig with Louisville's own "Rear View Mirror", I am hoping to be part of a side project based on Gen-X alternative/dance rock and/or a pop-rock/cover/tribute-style music...something energetic that keeps people on the dance floor singing along. A project that pays tribute to the great music of the past, putting a more modern modern feel to it, and taking more current music and morphing it to a bit of a retro rockish style. Goal?...to entertain/ inspire both old and young; to keep all music fresh and relevant; to allow everyone to take away a feeling of ownership of their generation and enjoy the other generations before and after theirs.

I'm not looking to take the world by storm and I'm at peace that my day in the sun for being a world-famous stadium musician has passed. I don't have the hair for it anymore. I'm just looking for some seasoned, like-minded, "let's go out and gig, but not every single weekend", no drama, no egos, looking to have fun, respectful kind of bandmates. If any of this sounds intriguing, feel free to reach out through a call or text. At the least, lets talk/ jam and see what happens.

EQUIPMENT

I have professional drum kits/ equipment available, ranging from a classic medium sized "Beatles/ Bonham style" Ludwig kit, to a large PDP/ DW Concept Maple "Peart" type kit for larger venues. I use Sabian Paragon and Zildjian cymbals. I also use electronic percussion (Roland VAD 506 Pro Electronic kit with Roland and Alesis strike pads for more modern sounds, effects, music and comic relief). I’m also capable of providing acoustic elements to any ensemble or project with cajon-style instrumentation and intimate electronic sounds. I also have (limited) rehearsal space available with sounds and mixer, if needed.
