Played guitar in a few cover bands back in the day, then put the electric away while I raised a family. Now that the kids have gone, I've been jamming semi-regularly with a loose collection of friends. I'm always on the lookout for musical conspirators and interesting musical opportunities. I have PA, drums, amps (guitar and bass) set up at my home in Henry County.

My primary interest right now is instrumental music, especially old school funk/soul and neo-funk (think The Meters, The New Mastersounds, Galactic, James Brown, etc). Would love to get some horns in the house!

What I am NOT interested in doing, is the typical bar band thing, playing classic rock covers that have already been played to death. Been there...done that...and it just no longer interests me.

And lastly, I'm not a Premier (i.e., paying) member here at Bandmix, so I am unable to contact other members unless they've included contact info somewhere on their Bandmix page. If you're looking to throw your net as widely as possible, I recommend including your contact info somewhere on your Bandmix page.

And you can listen to some basement recordings with some friends here:

OK then.

I enjoy rock, funk, jam, reggae, americana, blues, alt-country-folk, etc...pretty much everything except rap, modern country and lounge music. And while I want to avoid anything that's been played to death, I do enjoy taking popular songs and twisting them into funny shapes.

The Meters, James Funkin Brown, The New Mastersounds, Soulive, Lettuce, Breakestra, MMW, and jambands in general (Dead, Allmans, moe., Phish, WSP, Mule, etc.). Jam is good!

Depends on what day it is...

Guitars, basses, drum set, various percussion, PA/mics, amps (guitar, bass and keyboard). And the most important equipment of all: a pretty good set of ears!
