ABOUT
Sharon Benson is a multi-talented singer/songwriter, musician, actor & producer. Her original band Soul Dogs, aka The Cosmic Rescue Team, was the back-up band for the late, legendary actor, David Carradine. Her music has been featured in Films & Television, as well as being a part of many benefits and festivals. Sharon has always wanted to create a positive change using music as the vehicle. Through the years, she has been an advocate for many organizations, including World Waterway Institute, World Water Rescue Foundation, Water Not Weapons and The Universal Flag Foundation, just to name a few. Her song "WATER", inspired by William Waterway Marks, was the opening song for the 2008 Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival, just before the screening of Irena Salina's FLOW:For Love of Water, and was accompanied by William Waterway Marks, playing his Native American Flute. "The UNIVERSAL FLAG", co-written with Michael Zephro, is the theme song for the Universal Flag Foundation. Her latest labor of love, "WATER NOT WEAPONS", inspired by Phil Sauers & Pete Seeger, and dedicated to her Spirit Brother David Carradine, who happens to be the International Spokesperson for the World Water Rescue Foundation, will debut here today (September 18, 2010, at The Vigil For Peace & Ecology)! As a result of her work as a humanitarian, Sharon was given the title "Ambassador for Peace" by the Universal Peace Federation. From her home base in Los Angeles, she continues to perform with SOUL DOGS, WHISKEY MAN BAND 6, ZEPHRO, The Vagabonz, and other various musical projects. With her production company, Biheart Entertainment Group, Sharon is working to assist Non-Profit Organizations to achieve their Goals and help make the Positive Change on Our Planet a reality!
