A Voices of Hope collective music group will perform live during big downtown annual events such as Rose Festival, International Art Fest, Pride, and more. Stage, sound and instruments sponsored by Butterfly Belly, in affiliation with the Non-profit One of Kindness aka 1-OK. A charity for a very creative homeless program also sponsored by Butterfly Belly.
We created a band called Voices of Hope (VOH) to play to raise awareness and to raise funds for a creative nonprofit charity for homeless job training and jobs/gigs placements for musicians and non-musicians. We also lend out instruments for musicians who recently lost their homes to do street performances to make side money while they find a job.
I've recently tried helping out a gentleman musician from San Diego with a loaner guitar so we are one guitar short. If you have any violins, flute, guitar or portable types of instruments, PA, amp you're thinking of donating to Goodwill, please donate to us instead.
Our VOH band is located downtown Portland and we can come and pickup the item from you but we would prefer that you stop by to say hello and I would love to tell you much more . I'm a one man nonprofit in terms of funding thus far, so if you can donate or sell at a super discount I might be able to come up with some money.
We don't need new nor specialized, nor custom instruments since funding is limited. I.e. Some homeless or struggling musicians without their instruments might be asking me to buy for them an affordable piece once they have made some money from the loaner which is a great thing because I will lend them my instrument long enough for them to make enough money to buy a used one then the loaner will go to the next person and etc.
Please join us if you have time or talent to help train and mentor vocalist or guitarist.
Our goal is to train potentially talented and gifted vocalist to sing a few four chords types of songs to get them going on a guitar and learning a few songs to enable them for future street performances.
