I've been playing for 13 years, I know my way around the guitar. I'm well versed in music theory and can play a variety of different styles. I've got decent chops, but I also know how to hold back and not go into shred mode every 5 minutes. A very hard-earned skill, that one is.
I've never had any real lessons, everything I've learned I've learned from ear and the school of hard knocks. I can be a stickler for cleanliness sometimes, there are times in my past where I would practice one phrase for hours just to get it right.
I've got an incredibly diverse taste in music -- I like everything from hip-hop (love Outkast) to jazz fusion (Pat Metheny is unreal). Lately I've been on a funk and hard rock kick, so you'll find me playing a lot of Faith No More type stuff these days.
I should note that I'm not looking for a "full time" gig. I have a day job that I am happy with, any kind of band I join is purely for the love of the music and to have some fun playing gigs on the weekends. I wouldn't mind earning a little out of it, but I'm not looking to tour and I don't have any aspirations to "make it big". I'm in this for the fun aspect, and to expand musical horizons with like minded people.

Improv Blues Jam (over backing track) Genre: Blues
Me playing lead over a funky blues jam track. Recorded around six months ago with a little Peavey practice amp through a Shure SM57. Sound turned out well!

Puhleeze
Puhleeze Genre: Alternative
A hard rock/metal track I recorded a while ago. Bass/guitars recorded by me, drums are EZ drummer. Song kinda reminds me of RATM, but with more of a rectifier-punch-you-in-the-face kind of quality.
