Wendy Clark is the band leader of The Wendy Clark Band and half of ¡DOS LOCOS! with her bassist Chris Coward. She was the founder of Denver-based original rock band Tequila Mockingbird. Active on the Front Range music circuit and indie scene since 1996, Wendy is a writer, composer, guitarist, bandleader, recording artist, manager, and promoter. Her music is classified as Americana rock, and plays to non-specific genre consistently, the execution of each song - although the melody and playful lyrics combined with Clark's serving of infectious melody and sarcastic and thoughtful philosophical meanderings and with a twinge of nostalgia, that are catchy, powerful, and kept fresh by delving into multiple genres.
With a new EP from WCB expected to drop in 2018 and features bandmates, Chris Coward, David Derby, Bill Crick, as well as Brian Blush of the Refreshments and is a canvass or act in a virtual playground of what defines why we all like to write something that means whatever you want it to mean. Distancehttp://www.cdbaby.com/cd/tmockingbird3 Distance by Wendy Clark take everything you've learned so far and throw it all away i would have told you long ago but you're nine time zones astray your lack of concern concerns me, but i think i'm doing fine ambition doth escape me and i'm dying to make it mine traffic here on sunday is much worse than you'd expect waiting at a stoplight lets you sit there and reflect keep your eye on the canvas; tell me what do you see? take what you can get you know that never bothered me what more can i say to you to make a difference? each step closer to you, i can feel the distance stretched out on the grass i count the ways you wrecked my life cut my dreams right down the seams with that jaded, rusty knife waited in your driveway, in that old abandoned car started home at sunset but i didn't get too far what more can i say to you to make a difference? each step closer to you, i can feel the distance
Worthless© Copyright 1998 - Wendy Clark / Tequila Mockingbird (664409101326) Recording by Wendy Clark And Tequila Mockingbird Worthless Just call me worthless that's my name I used to try but it's always the same And I ran out of people to blame All my friends think it's such a shame But I'm not a victim 'cause I wrote the book I set the standard that was all that it took So don't shake your head and give me that look My crimes are vast but I'm not a crook And I believe you when you say I'm going to hell Ate my words again and I'm not feeling well Poster child for bullshit where are you now Enzymes for Edith, she eats like a sow Tell me is there hope for this world Do you know something I don't, little girl Why don't you whisper, why don't you weep? Why don't you frown as I shudder and creep? Never you cry spasmodic with joy Why do you mess with my head, little boy? Will you ever find that place again? Would you recognize my face again? I look to the left But I can't get it right BREAK Well I'm not an island and I'm not a ship I took the acid so I'll take the trip Ain't got no money to leave you no tip Break off the rock, and I'll give you a chip And I believe you when you say I'm going to hell Ate my words again and I'm not feeling well I look to the left But I can't get it right GUITAR SOLO Will you ever find that place again? Would you recognize my face again? I look to the left But I can't get it right
La Carta by Wendy Clark
La Carta by Wendy Clarkla carta there was a time in the back of my mind when i threw in the virtual towel, you said with a scowl and my meds, it was all in my head and i had every reason to smile once again so i wrote down the words 'cause i needed to rehearse and i left you a note on your microphone often these lines in the back of my mind rotate themselves into a blockade, you know as you come and you go, it's so easy to show that it's just that easy to care once again so i walked down the stairs 'cause i needed repairs and i left you a note on your microphone i don't care if you write me a letter i don't care if you play me a brand new song what's the point in dancing all night if you don't got no rhythm? often the time as it creeps down my spine as it seeps through the ceilings and it knocks down all the doors as you come and you go, it's so easy to show that it's simply that easy to care once again so i made a list of the pros and cons and i waited so anxiously for your response i don't care if you write me a letter i don't care if you play me a brand new song what's use in blaming yourself when i haven't done anything wrong? i don't care if you write me a letter i don't care if you play me a brand new song what's the use in writing the verse when the words are all written wrong? i don't care if you write me a letter i don't care if you play me a brand new song how many times have you believed yourself when you know that everything's wrong? "La Carta" music by Wendy Clark. Song by Tequila Mockingbird from "Luck and Trouble" (2010). Recorded/engineered by: Rhett Haney. Produced by: Bill Thomas. Recorded at: Lazy-Bird Studios. Mastered at: Airshow Mastering by Dave Glasser.

--COLORADO'S FIRST “JAM BAND” REUNITE FOR ONE SHOW AT SWALLOW HILL ON NOV 18--
Legendary Boulder Acoustic Jam Band MAGIC MUSIC to play One-Night Reunion Concert at Swallow Hill Music
(DENVER Colo.) November 1, 2011 – Boulder’s eclectic-acoustic, legendary jam band, Magic Music, will take the stage for a special one-night reunion show with six of its original members for the first time since 1976 at Swallow Hill‘s Daniels Hall in Denver on Friday, November 18th at 8 PM. Known for defining the sound of jam band music in Colorado, Magic Music inspired the ever-increasing trend of Rocky Mountain-based jam bands.
Formed in 1970, the band’s celebrated highlights included performances at Tulagi on Hill, Ebbets Field, the 2nd and 3rd Telluride Bluegrass Festival, The Denver Folklore Center, touring with Navarro (Carol King’s backup band), and playing shows with David Bromberg, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Cat Stevens, The Youngbloods, Michael Murphy, Doc Watson, and more. Magic Music played their last gig in 1976 at The Blue River in Breckenridge with Navarro. “We were basically put out of business by disco and it's too bad, because this was truly fun music for listening and laughing - and a trip back to the Woodstock days,” said singer, guitarist and banjoist for Magic Music, Chris Daniels of Chris Daniels and the Kings.
The original Magic Music members reuniting for this show will be Chris “Spoons” Daniels (from Chris Daniels and the Kings and Spoons), George “Tode” Cahill, Will “Wilbur” Luckey (from Alex Taylor’s Band), Bill “Das” Makepeace, Rob “Puna” Galloway (from Navarro and Leftover Salmon), Tim “T.G” Goodman (from The Too High Band, CBS™ solo artist, and the band Southern Pacific on Warner Brothers™ Records). Other members of the band included the late Lynn “Flatbush” Poyer who was the band’s founder.
This is a reunion of one of the most important and influential collaborators of the acoustic music movement of the early 1970s, also associated with James Taylor, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Old & In The Way, and Pentangle.
“Playing this music with old friends flashes on all our youth. It's like a well-worn path; so familiar but magically sometimes appears brand new – what fun!” said Will Luckey.
