Looking for a band to sing with. I've been singing all my life, brought up in a musical family we had jam sessions once a week with family and friends, I've done jazz and old standards at cocktail lounges and piano bars, I sang 60's and 70's pop and rock at weddings and bars. But then raised a family of 4 as a single Mom and continued with my career as a software test engineer until I was laid off. After that I got back into singing at karaoke bars and other venues.
Lately I sing in karaoke bars and charity events but I really need me a great band who's looking for a really good singer. That's me. I'll sing lead, I'm a natural at harmonies and/or backups. Ballads are my specialty but I love fun, upbeat songs too. I sing songs by Bonnie Raitt, Steve Perry, KD Lang, Karen Carpenter, Natalie Cole, Pink, Lauren Daigle, Adele, Procol Harem, The Kinks, Lady Gaga, The Righteous Brothers, Paul McCartney, Eva Cassidy, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Etta James, Sarah Vaugn, Petula Clark, The Drifters,
Rosemary Clooney, The 5th Dimension, Allanah Miles, Amy Winehouse, Carole King and more.
I like to sing ballads and can rock it too. I can sing quiet and soft, or get loud but I don't scream...just can't do it. I can get low notes clearly and with a really nice tone or get up high, but not too high.
Growing up with my Mom singing old standards, I'm comfortable singing those types of songs as well...
You can sometimes find me at the Village in Marysville singing karaoke on Tues, Wed or Thurs nights, The Stanwood Hotel on Thursdays, the Paddle Pub on Fridays, or Amigos in Stanwood on Saturdays, to name a few.... Influences
Steve Perry/Journey, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, all 70's Classic Rock bands, plus Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, KD Lang, Natalie Cole, Karen Carpenter, Stevie Wonder and my Mom, the best singer of all, and my Dad, who had great rhythm, killed it on the harmonica and mandolin and taught me harmony, how to play the ukulele and the spoons. I took classical piano lessons 10 yrs as a child and taught myself how to play the accoustic guitar, electric base, harmonica and sing.

EQUIPMENT
Everything I need to do karaoke gigs; Mackie Speakers and Mixer, 4 mics (1 is cordless) and stands, a big metal rack on wheels so I can move it all myself, Also an accoustic guitar, mandolin, ukulele, tambourines and harmonicas and laptop.
