how to describe? just listen too it.
I write, play guitar, bass, keys. sing baritone. played 20 years. My style is different. I guess sort of non metal gothic I guess. Although I love heavy metal ( RamStein/Tool is my fav) My songs tend to get really dark , but I try to stay away from meaningless stupid negative self loathing lyrics, and the mindless screaming and shredding give me a head ache. ( hello local boise metal bands, cant you stop screaming and at least sing one note? duh, talk about BORING)

Its hard to describe.. I love all styles and try to incorperate all.

I am a life long Bob Marley fanatic and would love to make sycopated gothic dark music with a postive message. ( still trying to accomplish this) I love the hypnotic effect of syncopation. but it hard to do by myself, so I settle for fingerpicked minor progressions/ melodies, sometimes with a stereo slap back echo.
I also love the vibe of haunting 3/4 irish/scottish music, something about 3/4 music that really turns me on.
I am the owner of domain name:
whateverism ( still under construction)
So I am hoping to market the band under the name Whateverism.
Which fits well with my interests in religion/philosphy/science and universalism.

I get great feedback whenever I play or post on the internet.
people say I sound like Lou Reed/ cure/u2/rem/ radiohead. I have been featured in local media/ newspapers. I am looking for others to connect with. I have a exsperienced drummer who is like my twin brother. We are both older , 30's= exsperienced. he loves my stuff and convinced it will sell big.
I have a unique professional product. Lyrically speaking I focus on other topics other than love. Mostly try to stay with science and agnostic flavored spiritual themes. I am very educated in science & religion / critical thinking/. I try to write on these themes. Most of my songs are in minor keys.

Influences

finger pick guitar melodic based music.
Alot of harmonic tapping melody lines, slightly distorted and compressed to bring out the harmonics. Micheal Hedges is a huge influence. my philosophy in music is keep it simple with a true melody ( no shredding) and focus on a hook.
The best songs are the most basic.
I fool around with slap back echo/panning to fill the sound ( U2) my vocals are baritone/bass.
Its hard to be objective about my own music, but I always get excellect reviews and offers to play more. I have acsess to many professional players and studios who want to work with my projects. I play solo instrumental giutar in public and they seem to really be impressed ( wierd to say this, trust me, I am not egotistical)
Some people accuse me of being a musical genius. some days I think I suck LOL. What I do know is I have the potential to go Big Time. I have had offers from overseas radio stations to play my stuff. but you know its hard to organize stuff without a business partner.

I got everything but the PA. I ve been fooling around with music for 20+ years, I have played in bands around town, made some good money for a few years.
A few months ago my highschool sweetheart/ wife of 15 years ran off with a boy friend, so here I am in midlife with nothing to do but commit to music %100.
( is this a midlife crisis LOL? I am not sure, I have always played music every day, and played all over town, although never totaly commmited, cuz my irrational stage fright takes the " fun" out of it)

Ive got 10 years worth of original material. alot of the stuff nobody has heard. the stuff that other musicians do hear, they seem to go crazy over it.
I play public, but at the same time I am not the type that feeds off of it, or ego trips on it. So it is an effort for me to force myself in center-of-attention situations. In reality I am a pretty soft spoken guy, but when I do it, I get such positive feedback, I always kick myself for not doing it more.

i am looking for other musicians for a commited long term business relationship.
Not sure what type of instruments, I am open to anything, even classical instruments like accordian, skin drums, harpsichord, wind, or whatever.

ps. one thing about me which I feel is very unusual for a musician, is that I am %100 approachable. that is I WANT to find other musicians who can be critical of my music and be honest when they think it sucks. My selfIdentity is not invested in my music. I am not egotistical.
I want other musicians to be critical and give advice for improvment when needed.trust me on this. It is impossible to find a musician of original music who will not take personal offense when someone is critical.. I WANT the critical input for improvment. I WANT to find another musician/ partner
who feels %100 comfortable giving me critical advice on song structure etc.
I garentee I am the most laid back. non defensive musician of original songs you will ever meet.

p.s. on a side note, I am a very short
( 5'4) baby faced pale white guy with a deep baritone voice. how cool would it be to find bandmates who are extremely tall?. talk about a wierd image that would catch peoples eyes,.
but I am only dreaming and its unimportant.
and probaby not worth mentioning. LOL.
