My name is Bill. I live in Midtown. New to K.C. and searching for people to play with.
I have a BA in Jazz Performance, Webster U. Indian classical training under Ustad Imrat Khan and the wisdom of many other reputable teachers. I've Hustled, taught in conservatory, recorded, toured, etc... Glitterhouse Records, Germany, Fire Records, UK and Undertow Records, St. Louis, random corporate sessions, dance accompaniment, Indian music recitals, jazz trios and rock and roll.
Looking for anything creative. Originals are preferred. Bebop, progressive rock, blues, R&B, experimental, primal screaming...whatever you like. I have an interest in Indian classical music as well and have some tabla ability.
I'm up for anything from noisy Sunday jams to quiet gigs with brushes. I love improvisation and prefer it over reading or covers. No covers, please. Jazz standards are the exception.
I don't have a space but I willing to set up somewhere hopefully not too far from midtown if possible. There must a few players around here somewhere.
