ABOUT

Hey, My name is Wils and I am 47 years young (thankfully I don't look 47) professional guitarist (and creative/art director & designer at .glenwilsoncreative) from London, the UK. I spend my time between London and Los Angeles mainly for the chilled-out and laid-back kinda lifestyle. I lived in CA, mainly in SF for 6 years when I was younger, and although London is one of the coolest cities going, I thought id chill in LA for a while and see if there's a band I could join or at least help. Either help get to the top or join for the ride. Even if it's just studio/session but I would rather kick it live... As that's where the fun is... I have a little bit, 30 years of experience and I'm fun to get wasted with!!!

If nothing else I'm searching for a great rock frontman/woman. I have many new tracks I would like to work on with a future star!!
I've played on quite a few charting records in the past although I have had almost 10 years away from the scene, to be honest.

So. Heres is the score. I still have many, mostly in the UK, cool contacts with labels, publicists, and management agencies to make a band happen on a domestic and international level but I have no doubt you already know guitar music, especially rock is quite dead at present and has been for a few years. It will come back in a big way soon, I'm sure but the likes of pearl jam, Stone Temple Pilots, G n R, etc... Bands that were huge 20 years ago, The bands I loved... It's all in the past. For rock guitar to make a comeback thrashing away at 3 or 4 chords simply won't cut it anymore. For fun, I love playing and writing 60's and 70s' type tracks as they are the reason I picked up the guitar in the 1st place but music and fashion have changed... Guitar-led bands will return to the top and I've been working with acts and labels for a while who have faith in this but the industry due to the web is in tatters at present. I digress I have been told from a young age that talent is talent and if a band/brand can re-capture the imagination of the young once again the sky is the limit. I could talk about this for days and how a modern rock act can still succeed in today's climate however certain knowledge, as I do also work in advertising, promo's and marketing with my agency, I am keeping close to my chest.

So… I’m Looking for or to form a kick ass rock n roll band based in LA. The tracks up on this site are not only over 20 years old but most are session/freelance work that I also produced (we all need points to pay the bills ehh!). If I’m not in town I’m happy to work remotely online but I much prefer being in the studio so if I’m in London I would rather pop over the pond and play/record with a band and hopefully join in the fun as the lead guitarist. Any questions please just drop me a mail… wilswilsonpure. Thanks for reading and I hope to work with you soon!!!. Cheers Wils.

EQUIPMENT

In the UK I have 17 les pauls, 135's, 335's, telecasters, strats, etc.. I'm mainly a Les Paul man though. the main amp is a 62 bluesbreaker.. I use what is required be it for a show or a record.. amazed by how good the spark amp is though for practicing at home...
In the USA... Just have a 59 reissue Les Paul (R9).. I can rent or buy anything else if its needed.
