ABOUT

I am a 61-year-old female guitarist and singer with many years experience in different bands, currently rooted in Bluegrass, Americana, and Delta Blues music. My band Second Wind Old-Time Bluegrass has gone into retirement after 11 great years, but I'm not done. I'm looking for other potentials. I have a slight disability (replaced knees) so I use a stool onstage. I am an instinctive picker and can play lead or rhythm, and a strong contralto voice for lead or harmony singing. I do not read music or tablature, and do not use lyrics sheets onstage. I have approximately 110 songs memorized, possibly more. I am reliable and dedicated, and consider music to be my life's work, not a hobby. I prefer to work with experienced musicians who don't need months of practice to be ready for a show. I can walk onstage cold and perform, either with a group or as a soloist. Bluegrass, Country, Mountain, Blues. . . any kind of rural Roots music is fine by me. I am as comfortable fronting as I am playing back-up.
