Band to Join, Vocalist - Baritone, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Keyboard, Piano.

:Hello musicians,

My wife and I have put together a band of solid, seasoned musicians. We are presently looking for a keys player. We currently try to do very popular songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s but not the ones you always hear bands play. Because we have such a wide breadth of instrumentation we can play songs other bands won’t attempt to try.

I’m retired and have more time to pursue my musical interests which include the blues. In addition to the band that we’re in I’d like to get a group of like minded individuals to focus on blues music, possibly with a rock twist. In addition to my Richter tuned harps, I play specially tuned harps that allow me to play like a lead guitarist and can go head to head with lead guitarists. If you’re interested please text me at 201-376-1282.

Myra majored in music and electrical engineering and plays multiple instruments. Flute, piccolo, rhythm guitar, piano, melodica, tin whistle, recorder, violin and sax. She plays in our local Community Band and their flute ensemble. She sings like Grace Slick (White Rabbit) and Pat Benatar( Hit me with your best shot) to name a couple.  She plays acoustic guitar,  mostly rhythm but is improving rapidly on picking,  plays a mean flute (Tull to Marshall Tucker and Moondance etc.) and is extremely gifted at reading and writing music. She and I sing with the choir at our synagogue. She plays multiple instruments there and I play harp with them.
I grew up in the Bronx singing on street corners and have been singing with my friends in various bands for over 50 years and have done vocals in the studio on multiple originals with a couple of groups. Some of my friends who still play gigs bring me up to sing any time we visit them.
8 years ago I picked up a cheap set of harmonicas and dabbled a little. Shortly thereafter I met Myra.  Thru osmosis I was motivated into investing in good harps and playing more and more just to try to keep up with her musically. I now have a full set of great harps and sound equipment to match.  Over the past 7 years I've jammed with musicians all over the world on cruises, restaurants, bars and have even played at BB Kings with Slam Allen who went solo after backing James Cotton until his death.
My vocal style is varied and I like singing Chicago (beginnings,  does anybody know what time it is), Neil Diamond (Sweet Caroline, etc.) Blood Sweat and Tears (You've made me so very happy,  And when I Die) Any (Greg or Allman Brothers) and Vehicle from Ides of March as my voice can be gritty and soulful when I need to. I can also sing Clapton to Frampton to Neil Young to Billy Joel to Steve Winwood to Ian Anderson.
I just retired and can now do rehearsals and Gigs which I couldn't really do consistently before so I shied away from committing to a band.
We have lots of friends and are always looking to meet new ones.  We want to have some fun and see where it might take us.
