ABOUT

After hearing Kiss' Alive 2 album at the age of 5, Brian King has been driven to become an accomplished musician. By the age of 10, King began training by ear to the complex drumming of Rush's Neil Peart and the power of Mettalica's Lars Ulrich. Brian later discovered the Beatles, Ringo Starr, and the art of building a well-crafted pop song. With the influences of Peart, Ulrich, and Starr, Brian King has forged a drumming personality of his own as dubbed a "pocket player" and known for "playing for the song". With 10 years of stage and studio experience, Brian has developed a work ethic based on passion and determination. In most band situations, he had established himself as focal public relations contact and also oversees most advertising and promotions. Brian has performed in bands with rock styles ranging from Southern Rock (Blackbird 1995-1997), Prog-Rock (Seething Grey 1997-1999), EmoRock (Nonesuch 1999-2001), Power-Pop (The Anderson Council 1999-2002) and Modern Rock (10 Heads High 2002-2006). His current musical influences include the dancable beats of The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and The Bravery.

The Anderson Council, now signed to Groove Disques, and 10 Heads High had achieved the most success of all King's previous ventures. The Anderson Council was frequently compared to The Who and The Beatles (circa 66-67 with their derivative 1960's psychedelic rock vibe). They had built a loyal following among garage rock and psyche-rock fans (including "Little Steven" Van Zant from The Sopranos and Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band). When joining forces with 10 Heads High in April of 2002, the band had gone on to win competitions (2003 WDHA Rock The Park, 2004 Los Angeles Best New Talent Awards), had gained significant airplay on radio stations that focus on signed bands (with the hook laden song, Evolution Queen), and had seduced interest from various major record labels (Jive, Universal, Sony, Lava, RCA).

Brian King has earned production credits on albums: Blackbird: Beyond the Sun, The Anderson Council: Split EP & Coloursound. He also contributes ideas to musical arranging, marketing and advertising. Other current projects include session work for the latest Sears marketing campaign jingle, It's the Good Life (June 2004), session work for the San Francisco, CA based Alt-Rock band Glimr (Oct. 2004), and drumming and production with Long Island City band Villacoma (July 2005).
