Band to Join, Vocalist, Acoustic Guitar, Violin, Banjo, Mandolin, Fiddle, Cello, Ukulele.

I'd like to put together a duo or trio that does mostly covers of new-ish folk and bluegrassy bands like the Avett Brothers, Trampled by Turtles, and maybe Mandolin Orange. Any accomplished musicians out there heard of any of these bands?

I would be playing mostly acoustic guitar and doing lead and harmony vocals, so I need someone who can sing both lead and harmony and can play fiddle, cello, guitar, mandolin, banjo, or something along those lines. I'd really like to meet someone who is a true fan of at least one of the bands I mentioned above — especially the Avett Bros. — who would like to play some of that kind of stuff. (I realize that might be a tall order, so if you're not familiar with them but become an instant fan when you do hear them, then let's talk!)

About me: I'm 43 and have been a musician for over 30 years. I play saxophone, guitar, Native American flute, and various hand percussion (cajon, djembe, udu, but I'm useless on a drumset) I love LOTS of different kinds of music, and I've been in several different kinds of bands from acoustic duo to full rock band to ska. I'm a good singer and a solid rhythm guitarist but am just kinda eh on lead guitar. Lately, I've been performing solo or duo acoustic rock covers from the 60s through the 2000s with some older country crowd pleasers peppered in.

I'm only looking to play locally (within an hour or so of Hot Springs). I work full time, so rehearsal time (what's that??) will be limited to evenings and weekends.

With the right match-up, this could be a lot of fun. I'm very easy to get along with and avoid drama like the plague. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

I love everything from the Deftones to the Eagles to Pearl Jam to a bunch of not-so-well-known folky bands and singer/songwriters. I even like classical and jazz, but I haven't performed any of that for over 20 years.
