I'm a 21 year old singer/songwriter from CoMo. Been here all my life. Most of the music I write tends to be alt-country / rootsy, but with different arrangements it can be pretty rocking. I won an NPR songwriting contest for one of my songs when I was 19. I also am in the process of recording an album of 11 original songs with session musicians in Austin, TX. I would like to find a band here, either to play my original material (I sing and play the rhythm acoustic guitar), or I'd even like to try a different style of music (though NO heavy metal or rap or mainstream country or anything like that).... just something maybe more rocking, or more indie rock, or less twangy, where i'm not the main brain behind the band. I can contribute however much or however less you'd like. Probably my strongest things to contribute to a band would be my voice and my songwriting, though I also am a good rhythm acoustic guitar player, and I have a hollowbody electric guitar I could learn, I also have an autoharp I am a boss at (thanks PJ Harvey for making me just HAVE to get one) which adds an interesting, dreamlike depth to a band.... and I was trained in the piano fro 12 years. Jazz and classical. I just am not confident at it, but I have a VERY good ear, and I a VERY good sense of rhythm, so I can pick things up pretty fast.
If you need percussive things... tambourines... whatevs... I can easily do that too. (ha just thought i'd throw that out there).
