No matter how much you try no one is able to choose their destiny,” I believe God chose this for me and I’m going to perform and entertain because I love it and that is what God wants me to do.” Yesha confidently told television show “Da Hook Up”. Destines can be hard to fulfill and even harder to figure out, Yesha was blessed by being able to define and pursue her destiny at a very early age.
Born in St. Louis, Mo., by the age of 9 Yesha was introduced to rap by her brother, “ I came in the room and he was playing ‘ Notorious Thugs’ with Bone thugs and Biggie, he would not let me stop listening to the song until I learned every word and once I listened to it I felt like I could do that. I began listening to more and more rap until I tried to make some songs of my own.” Yesha never thought that being a rapper could become a reality so she never put forth the effort to purse it as a career until the age of 12.
In 2003 Yesha worked to put together her first demo entitled “ Lyrikal Kaos”. This demo received a great amount of street credibility and spins in clubs in Springfield, Mo and college radio stations. Yesha has performed live on the Hillcrest Buzz-A-Thon, a show to raise money for a Springfield, Mo high school, Phatt City (UPN), 2004 SMSU step show, Da’ Hook Up television show, ‘World Wind of Support’ a benefit concert for the tornado victims of the Ozarks, opened for nationally recording artist Trina, and has brought down the house at many clubs and venues. As of Nov. 15th, 2005 Yesha inked her production deal with Funk Note Productions and is now going head strong into the music industry.
As we venture into 2006, 20 year old Yesha has one of the hottest albums ready to be dropped entitled “ Properly Introduced”. This album has hot beats Funk Note Productions and the same on point lyrics and energy that Yesha always brings. With this being just the beginning and with Yesha’s spontaneous personality to try something new, we can only sit back and relax and enjoy the ride. Though Yesha struggles on this journey she lets us know on her Lyrikal Kaos demo, “ I wipe the sweat from my brow/ and the tear from my cheek/ I got to stay strong/ you will never see me weak.”
