20 yr, mixed queer female vocalist looking to start or join local indie/alternative band. Looking for other musicians around my age range (18-25 years old)
I have about 8+ years of “traditional” “classical” vocal training. In the past growing up I was very into “musical theatre” (funny I know…). However, once you have trained your voice for that kind of thing, you can honestly sing any genre. I have a generally large alto - 2nd soprano range and a bit of guitar under my belt as well.
I love to write lyrics and vocal parts, however I’m not particularly great at writing instrumentals. So I’m looking for a bassist, drummer and lead guitarist to collaborate with. I can play, pretty simple, rhythm guitar but singing and performing is definitely more what I’m best at.
I’m also a graphic design student, and have actually designed a lot of the branding/merch for a lot of local bands. So, I can take care of designing all of our branding and merch as well!
Once we begin practicing and writing songs, I can also easily get us some good gigs at some nicer local venues. I’m very close friends with a lot of popular local bands (mostly Slug Bug, Veronica Everheart, Blu Joys and Bethany Home) and with a lot of the people who are in charge of booking shows for trunk space and rebel lounge particularly as I am pretty immersed in the local indie/alternative scene.
