I play fiddle and mandolin mostly in the old time string band style. (google the Freighthoppers for a good example of the genre) But I have musical interests elsewhere as well.
Looking for people that want to form a band and play for contra dances. I'm especially looking for a good rhythm guitarist. It is ok if you are unfamiliar with the style. (see ://en.wikipedia/wiki/Contra_dance )
Also looking for bands of non-folk genres (maybe rock/punk/etc) that want to add a fiddle or mandolin to their sound. (think Yellowcard or DMB)
I'm open to other ideas as well.
