ABOUT

INTRO:

Hi, I'm a college student going to WSU looking for a band. I play lots of different stuff. My favorite genre is melodic death metal (In Flames, Hypocrisy, Arch Enemy) but I also do a bunch of different stuff from mathcore to neoclassical.

I've been playing self taught with a few lessons since 2006. Since about 2008 I've been practicing more intensely, doing at least an hour a day but usually about three, learning more complex lead parts and techniques. I'm posting here because I really want to start gigging sometime soon and I simply don't know many people in the underground music scene.

I honestly don't have too big of a preference of what genre you want me to play in. I'm happy doing hardcore black metal stuff or just some Aerosmith. I can do either lead or rhythm, I've got a lot of practice doing both.

ABILITY:

I'm a decent sweeper, not too great at string skips but I can to up to 120 bpm 16th note sweeps fairly well, faster when hammering the top or bottom notes. My current consistent single picking speed is about 85 bpm and double picking is around 170. I've done a lot of different 2 handed tapping. Lots of the Buckethead 6 finger tapping, PTH's tapping/sliding, Malmsteen's tapping/bending and Metallica's regular old tapping real fast with the middle finger. So in short, if it's not some crazy 200bpm 16th note Michael Amott sweeping solo, I should be able to learn it pretty quickly.

I've used guitar pro and finale a lot, I've arranged quite a few songs from different genres so I can figure out a decent amount stuff without needing the music. I'm pretty good at reading guitar pro stuff but it takes a little while for me to figure out stuff with regular sheet music.
