I’m a 72 year old white guy. I started trumpet lessons when I was 10, and played in elementary and high school musicals, marching band and orchestras. Kinda got away from it until I was 40 and worked at Coast Guard HQ, where they were looking for people to play in their big band. They already had too many trumpet players so they loaned me a trombone and said come come back when you can play it. So I bought the Rubank books and after a few months came back and they let me in. I played with the big band for about 8 years, eventually making it to first trombone, playing all the old WWII music. Since then, I left the coast guard and playing in some community bands but nothing much lately. I’ve been keeping up the chops at home and feell like maybe it’s time to get back with a group. So if you’re in need of a trombone guy let me know.
