I have some songs written that I'd love to start getting up on their feet and I'm currently looking for fun, like-minded musicians to fill out a band. Now, I agree, sub-sub-genres are super annoying, so rather than list the stuff in the title agin, I'll fill you in on some of the general influences on the vibe I'm going for:
Wire, Talking Heads, Wipers, Jonathon Richman/Modern Lovers, Pavement, Gang of Four, Drive Like Jehu, ESG, Television, Pixies, James Chance, Minutement, A Certain Ratio, etc. etc.
~a bit about me~
I'm in my late 20s and I've been playing and writing music for most of my life. I primarily play guitar, but also dabble in singing, keys, and bass. I've been in and out of some other projects in different genres throughout my years living hear in LA, but I'd really like to play stuff like the artists above!
SO
Ideally I'd like to find another guitar player, a bass player, and a drummer. And if you're proficient in one of those and also play keys or saxophone that'd be awesome. All genders and orientations welcome, but I would prefer people in their 20s/ early 30s. But mostly I just want to play with cool people who are down to get weird, dance-y, heavy, and heady all in the same set.
