For 20+ years, I have been part of Cairo’s diverse music scene, playing in a multitude of bands of a wide array of styles and sounds.
I’ve played rock/prog rock/metal, jazz in an oriental fusion quartet, hip hop/funk in different formations semi-regularly at the Cairo jazz club, with Egyptian rap star Abyusif, in a duo formation with industrial/electronic artist Machine Eat Man. I was also the drummer for The American University in Cairo Arab music ensemble for many years.
Recently relocated to Oakland in 2022, I am looking to connect with musicians in the Bay Area to hopefully record original music as well as play live. I am open to meeting musicians of different influences/backgrounds/taste, not being attached to a particular genre (good music is good music!) My greatest desire musically at the moment though would be to connect with an electronic musician looking to perform and record as a duo in an electro-acoustic hybrid set-up.
