ABOUT
The Aquamarines, are based in San Francisco. We are looking for a well-rounded ECLECTIC pro drummer, with taste, style, and both sensitivity & power when needed. A slammin’ Jimmy Lester style surf drummer on some tunes, Gene Krupa, Billy Cobham or Ringo on other tunes. Your meter should be spot-on.
Surf-Rock, Psychedelia, Japanese/Okinawan, Latin, Hawaiian, Jazz, Swing, World, plus musical influences of The Shadows, The Beatles uniquely color our otherwise traditional 1960s instro-surf-rock direction. Strong melodies. Professional execution. Great reviews (US, Japan, England, France), and a #1 hit on Garageband.
We like playing live, and are currently taking a break from gigs after 10 months of non-stop shows. Many good things happening with the band: momentum, much original material (although plenty of covers also), support of our fans and peers, waiting for the right drummer to record a new CD.
