ABOUT

***A band influenced by everyone and in the vein of no one***

***Music Genre: Heavy Trip Rock - Progressive, Thrash, Speed, Death, Black, Doom, Drone, Sludge, Djent, Metal-Gaze, Nu-Metal, Classical R&B, Soul, Blues, Trip-Hop, Soft & Hard Rock, and all with elements of a film score underneath it***

I started to get into music as a hobby back in 2001, but never really got serious until late 2019, and ever since, I have practiced guitar around 60 hours a week. And, vocals 4-14 hours a week. I'm interested in finding some creative musicians who have the time and motivation to do something new and different.

As basic as I can make it... James Brown kind of invented his own style of funk by treating every instrument as a percussive one.  I want to reinvent extreme progressive metal by pushing every instrument to be not just percussive but equally balanced by melody. What that means to me is something that sounds like a cross between PORTISHEAD, SEVENDUST, NEVERMORE, and OPETH. With every moment threatening a turn towards the more extreme sides of Metal from DOOM or SLUDGE to DEATH or BLACK to NU or THRASH to whatever or whenever as long as its PROGRESSIVE.

Here's a general idea of what I'm looking for in band mates...

DRUMMER - Someone who has the worldly skills of Ginger Baker (Cream).  The creativity of Neil Peart (Rush), the feel for tempo (Larghissimo to  Prestissimo) like Tony Laureano (Nile), be creatively simple like Jim Eno (Spoon), and groove oriented like Martin Lopez (Opeth) and Van Williams (Nevermore). Other drummers I admire greatly... Danny Carey (Tool), Abe Cunningham (Deftones) (Gojira)(Meshuggah) (RATM) (Hozoji Matheson - Helms Alee)(Brann Dailor - Mastodon)(Keith Moon - The Who)

BASSIST - Someone whose style finds ever growing comfort on the fringe with Funk, Extreme Metal, Jazz, and R&B.  And, at the end of the day still has a soft spot for all things Rock. Other bassists I admire greatly... Flea (RHCP) (Opeth)(Mudvayne)(Tool)(Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals)(Primus)(Bootsy Collins)(Jack Bruce)(The Who)(James Jammerson)(Dana James - Helms Alee)(Jim Shepard - Nevermore, Sanctuary)(Steve Di Giorgio - Control Denied, Death)(Alex Webster - Cannibal Corpse)(Mike Kerr - Royal Blood)(Jinjer)

DJ/MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST - Ideally someone who is heavily influenced by bands similar to Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Portishead.  Bonus points if inspired by any of the following; Dimmu Borgir, Tool, Emperor, Mushroomhead, Pink Floyd, Brainiac, The Berzerker, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Incubus, Vintersorg, Nine Inch Nails, How to Destroy Angels, The Roots, The RZA (Wu-Tang Clan), or Gangstar.  I'm lookin for subtle theatrics on an epic scale with an adrenaline boost in atmosphere.

GUITARIST - Someone who embodies all things guitar.  All things music by nature.  Someone who can play any classic song on acoustic guitar with a tremendous feel for enhancing the atmosphere with delicate fingers like Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth). Who can steal the spot light with blazing speed and precision like Jeff Loomis (Nevermore), Who can make love to the guitar like Slash (Guns and Roses) or slowly crush a skull with the crunchiest of riffs like Karl Sanders (Nile).  Someone creative and is consistently pushing the boundaries like Tom Morello (RATM) and Adam Jones (Tool).
