ABOUT

I left my life of music in Ohio to attend the Pennsylvania State University in 2007. All for the best I suppose as after a miserable two year stint I decided to return to a life consumed with music across the country to a city producing some of the most entertaining music available. I thrive for eclecticism and freedom, two of the most prevalent traits among the dwellers of Seattle and what I like to incorporate in my music. My drumming tendencies are hard-hitting yet intricate, solid yet sophisticated, and versatile enough to fit many formats.

EQUIPMENT

My opinions of gear have drastically changed since the start of my drumming. Instead of buying the highest ends of certain brands and labels I now look for sound characteristics of individual pieces, no matter the name on the badge. Used and vintage equipment enable the development of a unique voice. I would rather use a trash can if the situation calls for such a switch out than portray a certain "look".

My current set up includes a 12 inch snare as my main that offers a high-pitched crack and audible ghost rolls, a 14 inch lower-pitched snare to the left of my main hi hat. 8, 10, and 16 inch toms, all to my right. My kick is a punchy 1970s 16x22 Ludwig Black Panther. My cymbal collection is vast and versatile enough to switch out and set up for particular occasions/genres. I also play with a second hi hat on my right, simulating a cymbal stack heard on such set ups of Jon Theodore and Thomas Pridgen. (Eh, it changes every day!)
